Manchester United’s Anderson Pulled ‘Lifeless’ From Burning Car
Manchester United midfielder Anderson was pulled unconscious from a burning car, just seconds before it exploded in Braga, Portugal.
The Brazilian spent several hours in hospital and was treated for concussion, shock and whiplash, but has now been released.
The Jornal de Noticias reports that one witness said: “I thought he was dead.
“My brother dragged him out of the car, and we put out the flames before the entire car burned down.”
Anderson was reportedly accompanied by a friend and a Brazilian woman, despite the car having just two seats.
Police are said to be investigating the accident but it’s still unclear who was driving the vehicle, an Audi R8.
The midfielder is expected to return to Old Trafford shortly to continue his rehabilitation after rupturing a cruciate knee ligament in February that forced him to sit out the World Cup.
