It is believed 45% of consumer’s time is spent using various kinds of media. This comes from research regulated by “Ofcom”, the first to track exactly how long consumers spend using various kinds of media.

Consumers can now access information from mobile phones, ipads, TV’s radios and the Internet. Increasing the amount of time absorbing media or communication via gadgets.

It is believed that consumers are sending “four times” as many text messages than in 2004. Interestingly enough people are using more then one form of media at the same time, “multitasking” has increased considerably in the last year.

Younger people are more adept at multitasking, particularly with social networking sites such as Facebook and the use of their mobile phones.

However it is not just the younger generation using the media sources, the divide between younger and older people’s use of technology is also narrowing.

Technology has definitely changed the way we live. Communicating is easier then ever. Information is more accessible, and i feel this is just the start of things to come.
